The St. Vincent and the Grenadines Rugby Union has announced they have been chosen to host the opening match of the Rugby World Cup 2019 Qualifiers.

The St. Vincent and the Grenadines National Men’s team will play against Jamaica on Saturday March 5th 2016, at the Arnos Vale Cricket Ground.

Since this is the opening match, World Rugby is expected to be sending a film crew and VIPs from World Rugby as well as placing the World Cup William Webb Ellis Cup pitch side.

Famous rugby referee Nigel Owens, has been confirmed as being the referee for the match.

This is an excellent marketing opportunity for not only the island’s Rugby Union, but for the whole of St. Vincent and the Grenadines as this event is due to be very high profile globally.
