Sharps United made sure Somerset remained outside the qualifiers in this year’s VINLEC-sponsored North leeward Twenty20 cricket tournament, with a 69-run defeat last Saturday at the Petit Bordel Playing Field.
Sharps United reached 176 for six off 19 overs at the cut off stage, built mainly around Husani Porter’s 40, and Marquis Alexander 33.
Orlando Charles had four for 47 with the ball, but when they turn came at the crease, Somerset was bundled out for 107 in 13.3 overs; David Murray showing some resistance with a knock of 33.
The main destroyers were Desroy Samuel with three for 12, and Christopher Howe three for 29.
Then in the day’s second game, Carlos James Troumaca Starlight defeated the Petit Bordel Ssecondary School by 95 runs, at the same venue.

Cklon McKie finished with three for 23, and Tevon Robertson two for 31 as the school boys made an effort to restrict their counterparts to a gettable total.
In reply the Petit Bordel Secondary School were quickly sent back, scoring 77 all out off 17.4 overs. It was a painful possession fo batsmen to and fro with only Rayon Murray’s knock of 21 being the main score of note.
Kentis John three for 06, Kishnell John two for 17, Donald Delpesche two for 15, and Zemron Providence two for 27 as Starlight’s bowlers all chipped in the destruction.
