VILLA, ST. VINCENT AND THE GRENADINES – The sports department of the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Community College is beating its chest once again, having staged another memorable Finals. This time it was an enthralling basketball finals, to end the 2018 Quick-Cash Corporation St. Vincent and the Grenadines Community College Inter-Divisional Basketball competition.

It was an action packed, hoop to hoop battle, as defending champions Year One DASGS Shooters, took a 21-12 lead at the end of the first quarter.

This score line they extended to 33-23 after the second period. The Pacers ate into their opponents led, to leave the game well poised at 44-40 after the third quarter. The Year Two DASGS Pacers came as close as 43-44, before the Shooters pulled away decisively to retain the title, with a 54-47 win.

MVP of the Year One DASGS Shooters, and MVP of the Tournament Lemus Christopher, took his team to victory with a game high 24 points.

MVP of the Finals, Donis Daniel supported well with 15 points.

MVP of the Year Two DASS Pacers Marcus Thomas, bucketed 23 points in a losing effort.

The third-place place play-off was equally exciting, as Year One DTVE Hornets inched their way back from a 19-goal deficit at the end of the first quarter, to eventually lose to Just Graduated Combined 39-41.

MVP of Just Graduated Combined Lennox Ince, ensured that his team held on to win, as he sunk a game high, 20 points.
Leyhmarr Campbell was awarded the MVP of Year One DTVE Hornets, Keyon Scott the MVP of Year Two DTVE Ballers, and Jaheim Campbell MVP of the Blue Chip Basketball Academy, with Tevin Bynoe copping the Best Defensive Player award.

The two teams confirmed their spots in the Finals with commanding wins, when the preliminary round ended.

Year Two DASGS Pacers led by Marcus Tomas who sunk 27 points overwhelmed Year Two DTVE Ballers 79 – 13, while Oscar Hutchinson added 18 points for the Pacers.

Year One DASGS Shooters hammered Blue Chip Basketball Academy 87-6, as Lemus Christoper powered his way to 38 points, while Donis Daniel bucketed 24 points for the Shooters.

The third game of the day saw Year One DTVE Hornets going under to Just Graduated Combined 29-45. Lennox Ince led the way for the past students with 22 points and Givin Forde added 18. Leymahrr Campbell had 21 points for the Hornets.
