KINGSTOWN, ST. VINCENT AND THE GRENADINES – There were many notable races during the 2016 OECS Swimming Championship which was held in St. Vincent and the Grenadines for the first time.

After all of the splashing, emerging as Girls Under-8 champion was Shelby Nichols of Grenada and in the Boys winner in that age group was Antoine Destang of Saint Lucia’s

In the 9 – 10 age group, Naima Hazell won the Girls’ individual, while D’ Andre Blanchard took the Boys’ title.


Cheanael Griffit of Martinique is the Girls 11-12 champion, while Grenada’s Jenebi Benoit took the Boys title.

Katie Kyle of Saint Lucia grabbed the Girls 13 – 14 age group title, with Antigua and Barbuda’s Leighton Martin grabbing the boys’ version.

Stefano Mitchell of Antigua and Barbuda was the Boys 15 – 17division champion, and Shne’ S Joachim of St. Vincent and the Grenadines the Girls champion.

Oreoluwa Cherubin and Corey Ollivierre both of Grenada won the 18-and-over Males and Females, titles respectively.
