Holy Family University Sophomore and Saint Lucian Taurai Augustin set a new indoor school record on Saturday as the Holy Family University men’s track and field team competed in the annual Frank Colden Invitational hosted by Ursinus College at Bakes Fieldhouse.

Augustin set the new indoor standard in the 800-metre run as he finished fourth overall in a time of 1:58.01. His time is also a new personal-best topping his outdoor time of 1:58.88 set last spring.

The record means that Augustin now holds an 800-metre record at three of his previous schools, with St Mary’s College (outdoor) and Union County College, being the other two schools.

Augustin also competed in the 4×400-metre relay along with fellow Sophmore Kev Orwig, junior Juwan Jordan (Philadelphia, Pa./Prep Charter), and senior James Annobil.

The team finished 10th overall and third in their respective heat, with a time of 3:49.04.

Speaking to him after his achievement, Taurai had this to say: “I will like to give a special thanks to my parents, previous and current coaches as well all my teammates for giving me the support needed to achieve another milestone.”
