KINGSTOWN, ST. VINCENT AND THE GRENADINES – Last Friday December 17, 2017 at the Girls High School courts, St. Vincent and the Grenadines Basketball Federation held the finals of the 2017 3X3 Basketball finals, with boys defending champions successfully defending their title, but the Girls defending champions Northern Girls failed to make an appearance.

The Bequia All Stars successfully defended their title when they defeated the Union Island Secondary School in the Boys’ Finals, and Blue chip 1 defeated St Joseph Convent (Kingstown) in the Girls’ Finals.

The Bequia All Stars team comprised Nicholas Lewis, Jadley Bynoe, Dario Barber, and Jermaine John.

Blue Chip 1 was made of Rhadawn Bibby, Ashantae Williams, Jada Peters, and Angelika John.

Both teams will now represent St. Vincent and the Grenadines at the IBF Antilles Under-18 3X3 Basketball tournament scheduled to be held in Barbados in January 2018.

3X3 basketball was formulated to Allow greater participation in an already fast pace and exciting game. Matches utilise a half-court with three players per team allowed on court at any one time.

Matches are of 10 minute duration, with a single time out and no coaching is permitted from the side lines. Four players comprise a team, and the first team to score eleven points is the winner.
