Schools in both the primary and secondary school categories dominated the 2018 Round D Town Relay, and was only in the Open categories that the athletics clubs came into their own, yet were not as dominant as many expected them to be.
The Fitz Hughes Primary School Team 1 won the Girls category of the 2018 Round D Town Relay with a time of 43 minutes 47.89 seconds. They were followed in second place by the Fitz Hughes Primary School Team 2 in a time of 47 minutes 07.88 seconds, while the third place was won by the Kingstown Preparatory School Team 2 in a time of 53 minutes 06.27 seconds.
The 2018 Round D Town Relay was lengthen to 8,000 metres, and took place on Sunday September 23, 2018. The Fitz Hughes Primary dominated the Boys category, winning all three podium places.
Team 1 with a time of 36 minutes 14.43 seconds took first place, Team 2 in 41 minutes 59.91 seconds took second place, and third place was won by Team 3 in 44 minutes 36.66 seconds.
The Troumaca Secondary School Team 1 won the Secondary Schools’ Girls category in a time of 40. Minutes 20.30 seconds, followed by the Central Leeward Secondary Team 1 in second place in a time of 42 minutes 52.45 seconds, and third place was taken up by the Thomas Saunders Secondary Team 1 in 46 minutes 15.15 seconds.
The St. Vincent Grammer School Team 1 won the Secondary Schools’ Boys category in a time of 30 minutes 23.22 seconds, the Central Leeward Secondary Team 1 was second in 31 minutes 25.13 seconds, and third was the Petit Bordel Secondary Team 1 in 32 minutes 22.65 seconds.
IT Dat Academy Team 1 took first place in the Women Open category with a time of 36 minutes 50.18 seconds, Central Leeward Secondary Team 1 was second in 38 minutes 59.62 seconds, and third was the X-Ceed Sports Club Team 1 in 46 minutes 05.34 seconds.
Team 1 of Experience won the first place in the Men Open category in 27 minutes 51.69 seconds, IT Dat Academy Team 1 took second place in 28 minutes 18.02 seconds, and Xcel Team 1 third in a time fo 30 minutes 29.22 seconds.
