Meanwhile, the 2015 Blackheart/SLFA Knockout Football Tournament draw results has had former Saint Lucia national football coach Allain Providence commenting.

Providence, who also coached the Micoud Inter-district team to capturing the 2010 Blackheart Knockout Football title, says that the draw for the 2015 Blackheart /SLFA Knockout Football Tournament was indeed a very exciting draw.

Providence says the Gros Islet/Soufriere match is the match up which stands out from the draw as one of the more interesting and most anticipated match ups for the first round of the competition.

“Ah I think the draw is very exciting, mouth-watering if you ask me. In the past years you would hear the fans taking about viewing Blackheart at about second round, or the semi-final stage but I think this year do nto give them that luxury. They have to watch the games from the start because they have very good matchups there.

“When you look at Anse-la-Raye, Dennery, Mabouya Valley, Micoud, Soufriere, Gros-Islet. Even La Clery and Canaries have very good draws so I do not think anybody is going to miss out on the action.”

The former Saint Lucia Senior National team Coach, and Coach of the 2010 Blackheart Knockout Football Champions Micoud, points to one particular clash which would have many salivating at such a prospect.

“I think the Soufriere/Gros-Islet is that Soufriere is playing at home which gives them the twelfth man as we say in football, and that in itself is impetus for them to go all the way.

“Gros-Islet we know are not no pushover, and they will have to be on their ‘A’ game is they have to go past Soufriere. I think that is a very good matchup.”

The 2015 Blackheart/SLFA Knockout Football Tournament kicks off Saturday evening September 19th 2015 at the Beausejour Cricket Ground with two matches. But before that, a short opening ceremony and march-pass of all participating teams in the tournament is scheduled to take place from 5.00 p.m. (RSH)
