KINGSTOWN, ST. VINCNT AND THE GRENADINES – Come March 3rd 2018, the Grassroot Tennis Club will be hosting of a mixed doubles Tennis tournament in St Vincent and the Grenadines, which is expected to bring to an end the long drought in the hosting of Mixed Doubles tournaments.

Grassroots Tennis Club, in the partnership will be teaming up with Lewis Pharmacy who would provide the financial support for the tournament, , which is expected to attract about twelve mixed pairs, who will be vying for some attractive prize.

Top honcho at the Grassroots Tennis Club Grant Connell said ““ I am happy in one- way that we are spearheading such an event, as it has been close to fifteen years that a tournament of such nature was last held.”

His feelings were mixed feelings about the tournament: “On the other hand, saddened by the manner in which the sport has been allowed to reach the stage of almost insignificance.

“Tennis is at an all-time low, but we have to keep building it up from our end at the Grassroot Tennis Club, as we have the sport at heart.”

According to the outspoken Connell, the Grassroots Tennis Club will be using its tournaments to build the momentum for a special tennis event to be held here in October.

He further disclosed that the GTC has several other tournaments in the pipeline being planned to be rolled out in due course.
