BEAUSEJOUR, SAINT LUCIA – Gros-Islet are the champions of the inaugural Sandals-sponsored Saint Lucia National Cricket Association Under-19 cricket-o-rama.

Eight of the 10 District teams registered for the tournament took part in the event which took place on Sunday March 11, 2018 at the Daren Sammy Cricket Ground.

In the grand final of the cricket-o-rama, Gros Islet led by West Indies Under-19 batsman Kimani Melius, with a wonderful display of aggression, proved too much for fellow finalist Central Castries.

Gros Islet taking first knock in the 5-over a side final, made 82 for 2 in their allotted overs with Kimani Melius blasting 51 off just 17 balls, with 7 sixes and 2 fours.

In reply, despite an attacking 41 by Windward Islands Under-19 player Johnnel Eugene, Central Castries finished on 56 for 2 in their 5 overs.

Earlier on in the semi-finals, Windward Islands players Dane Edward was the star of the show with the bat as Gros Islet made 67 for 1 in 4 overs versus Vieux Fort North. Edward made 35 which included 3 sixes and 3 fours.
