KINGSTOWN, ST. VINCENT AND THE GRENADINES (contributors Darren and Darrin Griffth) – The 2018 St. Vincent and the Grenadines Inter-Secondary School Cross Country race took place at the now decommissioned E.T. Joshau airport at Arnos Vale.

The race was ran in two categories, namely females running two laps of the 2-kilometre course (4 kilometres), while the males ran three laps (6 kilometres).

Led by Zita Vincent who crossed the line in 28:39.50 minutes, the Central Leeward Secondary School dominated the females division, taking the first four places.

The other three runners were Chaunte Williams second with a time of 30:05.00 minutes, third was Ashtanti Richards in a time of 30:48.80 minutes, and Marlene Richards fourth with a time of 31:11.80 minutes.

Central Leeward Secondary School with a total time of 2 hours and 45.10 seconds took gold position in the overall team placing, and Troumaca Ontario Secondary School the silver position in the team’s placings with a total time of 2 hours 21 minutes 20.60 seconds.

The four runners for Troumaca Ontario Secondary School were Areka Hooper finishing fifth overall in 32:27.40 minutes, sixth overall was Shanecia Delpeshe in 32:28.90 minutes, eighteenth overall was Deniel Creese in 37:57.90 minutes, and crossing the line in twentieth position was Sareka Hooper in a time of 38:26.40 minutes.

St. Joseph’s Convent (Kingstown) took the bronze position in the team placings, with a total time of 2 hours 27 minutes 15.90 seconds.

St. Joseph’s Convent was represented by Xaria Basccombe who finished in a time of 36:47.90 to place 11 overall, Fay Ann John crossed the line in 36:48.90 minutes to be twelth overall, Adiah Phillips was thirteenth overall in a time of 36:49.40 minutes, and Karishna Neptune fourteenth overall in 36:49.70 minutes.
