KINGSTOWN, ST. VINCENT AND THE GRENADINES – Almost three hundred student athletes and team officials from the four Windward Islands will gather in St. Vincent and the Grenadines July 22 – 29, 2017 for the 2017 CBN / WINLOTT Windward Islands School Games.

The groups will arrive on Friday July 21st, and the opening ceremony is on Saturday morning from 10:00 a.m., and the closing ceremony at the same venue on Saturday July 29th from 7:45 p.m.

On Monday July 17, 2017 a meeting was held, with attendance by representative of various components. The meeting reviewed progress made, and instituted changes where needed.

According to chairperson of the local organising committee Ms Elizabeth Walker, the meeting was a success, and all systems are in place for the 2017 edition of the Games.

The major issue dealt with was the finalising of the schedule, which determined that games scheduled for the Chili hard courts, had to be shifted to other venues.

Male and female basketball will now be played at the Arnos Vale and Keartons hard courts, while male and female volleyball will be played at Gomea.

Netball will be played at the Keartons courts, with football scheduled for the Arnos Vale and Georgetown playing fields, respectively.

St. Vincent and the Grenadines last hosted the multi-sport four island Games in 2013.
