Action in the night's opening game

KINGSTOWN, ST. VINCENT AND THE GRENADINES – On Saturday night, the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Football Federation launched its first ever Futsal tournament at the Bishop’s College Kingstown courts.

The opening ceremony was scheduled to commence 6:00 p.m., but started almost 90 minutes behind schedule.

Addresses were heard from Chairman of Tournaments Basha Awad, SVGFF president Venold Coombs, and SVG Director of Physical Education and Sports Nelson Hillocks.

The 2017 SVGFF Futsal Community League championship will be contested by sixteen (16) teams in four Zones, with East Kingstown and West Kingstown clashing in the opening game.

Futsal is a five-a-side game, normally played on a flat indoor pitch with hockey sized goals and a size four ball with a reduced bounce.
